AJ Construction and Development LLC was started in 1998. We operate in the District of Columbia and the state of Maryland.

We provide licensed and insured, remodeling services to homeowners and investors. Our main office is located in Capitol Heights Maryland right inside the Capitol Beltway. The focus of our general contracting services are to manage and supervise projects from beginning to end.

We self perform some carpentry aspects of our projects but rely on licensed and qualified Electricians, Plumbers and specialty subcontractors to do what they do best.

Our subcontractor team is composed of skilled tradesmen/women who have an expertise in their particular trade.

AJ Construction and Development LLC is a commercial and residential construction company that performs remodeling, renovations, additions and facilities maintenance in the D.C. and Maryland region.  Since 1998 we have performed for Maryland Department of Health and Mental Hygiene, property managers, commercial retailers and numerous homeowners in the most professional and effective manner turning in projects on time and on budget.  Our core capabilities are self-performing rough & finished carpentry, drywall installation & repair, painting and providing general contracting services for small to medium size projects.


Maryland Department of Health & Mental Hygiene:
Removal of wallpaper, skim, patch & repair walls and ceilings then prime & paint six bedrooms, two bathrooms, two dayrooms, two corridors and a dining room to prepare facility for turnover of new patients. Project cost $9,000.00Parsons addition: Removal of existing roof and 400sf attic bedroom of spit-level house, construction of new 1400sf third story to house consisting of new master bedroom, master bathroom, guest bedroom, guest bathroom and loft. Our role in this project was as general contractor and self-performance of rough and finished carpentry, drywall installation, painting and jobsite maintenance. Project cost $227,083.00.

Central Hampton Business Park:
Remodeling of main office – reception area, rear office, bathroom, hallway and mailroom. Twice converting two commercial units into one rental unit with new layout.  Twice converting sections of concrete walkway into concrete ramp. Twice extending two separate concrete dumpster pads for additional dumpsters. Drywall repair and painting for three rental units. Our role in these projects was as general contractor and self-performance of carpentry, drywall, painting and job-site maintenance.  Project cost $28,169.00.

Rossell Addition:
Two-story addition at rear of house including renovations and expansion of master bathroom and kitchen, new 2nd story deck, ground level deck, three season room and laundry room. Our role in this project was as general contractor and self-performance of rough and finished carpentry, drywall installation, painting and job-site maintenance. Project cost $175,228.00.

General Services: 18th & F Street NW Building. Project 1:
Removal of main corridor storefront partitions and repair to marble floors and walls due to removal. Our role in this project was as general contractor, demolition and jobsite maintenance. Project cost $18,000.00. Project 2: Remove carpet then install vinyl tile and cove base for 400sf area. Our role in this project was self-performance of entire project. Project cost $5,000.00.

Miller Basement Build-out 900sf basement while incorporating garage and rear patio into interior living space for new bedroom, bathroom, entertainment and living space, utility closet and storage closet. Our role in this project was as general contractor and self-performance of rough and finished carpentry, drywall installation, painting and jobsite maintenance. Project cost $97,404.00.
